Back to Education Initiative

Interested in music? Looking to return to education, but aren’t available full time?

CAM offers FREE music tuition under the BTEI (Back to Education Initiative) programme. Our aim is to provide people with an opportunity to combine their learning with family, work and other commitments.

We offer practical lessons with instruments such as:

  • Guitar
  • Bass Guitar
  • Piano
  • Keyboard
  • Percussion
  • Vocals
  • Saxophone

The Back to Education Initiative programme provides part time courses for adults and young people aged over 16 who left school with few or no formal qualification or low literacy levels.

The participants eligible for free tuition are people who:

  • Have less than upper-second level education
  • Are getting a jobseekers payment or means tested social welfare payment
  • In receipt of the Working Family Payment (formerly FIS)
  • Have a medical card

The course is open to people with a keen interest in music with a willingness to learn and develop all aspects of music from beginner level upwards. Previous musical experience welcome.
